JEET KUNE DO
Since an attack can be either physical or mental, and is unpredictable in nature, JKD helps you to develop instincts and reflexes that allow you to adapt to any perceived threat regardless of the size or strength of your opponent. No pre-arranged movements are stressed and the JKD practitioner has the freedom to defend themselves with no limitation both physically and mentally. Discover your innate abilities while increasing your physical strength, mental awareness, flexibility and endurance.
JKD will increase your ability to concentrate and focus, boost your self-confidence and teach you how to deal with daily stress in a positive manner. This will lead you to discover balance and harmony within yourself while inspiring you to develop a solid foundation for a successful life.
Tools: Learn complete body mechanics that offer a variety of kicks, punches, elbow and knee strikes, take downs and ground defense with no wasted (obvious) movements!
Interception: Jeet Kune Do means The Way of the Intercepting Fist. Therefore, we focus on the primary principles of: 1) Simplicity; 2) Economy of Motion; 3) Longest Weapon to the Nearest Target; and, 4) Always Think of Hitting. If this doesn't make sense to you now, once you re-evaluate your way of thinking with an emphasis on the aforementioned primary principles, you will achieve the results and ability to not telegraph your movements and be able to develop the skill of Interception and overcome an opponent, attack or obstacle in your path.

Sensitivity: Without Sensitivity training you are nothing more than a copied image of someone else’s interpretation. You need todevelop forward, sticking, dissolving and springing energy to understand how to control your opponent. This area will not only assist you in close quarters attacks, but it will also be beneficial from a non-contact point of view. Chi Sao "Sticky Hands" will transcend your training to an awareness level that will answer many questions you may have had since the inception of your journey.
Note: This description of Chi Sao is based off of Jerry Poteet's training with Bruce Lee.
